Launching of World's largest Telescope

Russia has an excellent invention achieved on this July 2011.
Russia's RadioAstron space telescope achieved Earth orbit on July 18,2011. Once it unfurls its petaled antennae, it will link up with telescopes on the ground and become the world's largest radio telescope.

RadioAstron Telescope

The "Russian Hubble" achieved far-Earth orbit Monday, July 18, marking the first deep space observatory project undertaken by the Russian space program in over a quarter century. The RadioAstron space telescope, once it is fully operational, will become far stronger than its American namesake, however, capturing images up to 100,000 times the resolution as the famed Hubble telescope. And it will do it by cooperating and linking up with other telescopes.

"It will allow us to look into the furthest reaches of the universe with a very sharp resolution and receive data about extra-galactic phenomena," said project constructor Viktor Khartov of the Lavochkin institute outside Moscow. "The whole world is waiting for this,".
